Easy to use

I've used FreeTaxUSA several times to do my taxes, and have always been quite satisfied with the results. The interface is pretty straightforward and easy to navigate. And even if you decide not to pay the $15 to file your state taxes, the program still tells you the amount you owe the state or vice versa.

Overall, I find the experience simple and effective, and would recommend this site to others.

1099nec attach is a mess

The live chat explains how to tap menu for income to find easy attach info. It works once. But if you need to take a break. And go back to that method the tap menu income no longer contains attach 1099 MRC on it. This is no matter how many times you try this. Very annoying. And your e return will not go in without these attachments even tho your credit card has already been billed as if! More than annoying. Maybe no longer free Turbo has sent them a virus so you go to thinking Maybe you get what you pay for?

Freetaxusa.com - First of all IT IS NOT FREE

First of al IT IS NOT FREE! I filed my taxes with bad information from Freetaxusa.com. The IRS found errors so I thought I would check to see if I amended my return the problem be fixed. I used their amend process and low and behold it showed an error on the part of the IRS so I went ahead and purchased the amended return for an additional $15. After I paid, my return showed that the IRS was actually correct. So apparently Freetaxusa pulled some kind of software scam to get me to pay for something I didn't need. They refused to refund my money although I had proof it was their software and ignored any further emails I sent them. Stay clear of these crooks!

Ripoff Software

Best experience in decades.

FreeTaxUSA has been the most accurate, in depth tax prep website out of several I've tried. The forms are simple to fill out and have links that help inform users instantly more detailed explanation of what is being asked. I had the fastest, kindest, briefest and best support ever, and it saved me money where I would have paid money unnecessarily. I got a text that my return was accepted by IRS in less than a minute of e-filing and 5 minutes later a follow up email with info on how long it usually takes for a refund. Wow!

New user wound up owing more after IRS processed return

Just got a bill for $700 more than I paid, IRS says due to error in filing. Always used turbo tax before with no issues never owed more than return said. Already paid $400, not sure where the error is, entered all info correctly.

Exceptional Service for Tax Return

I am so happy to have been helped by FreeTaxUSA for the last 3 years in filing my Tax Return. As an old man in 80's with limited computer skills, I appreciate their help in guiding me through. Hope they will continue providing this service as long as I live.

They gave me 69 dollars instead of 141 dollars

T use this site. I was supposed to get $141 in federal return. I got $69. Any they said call irs because I might have a debt. I called IRS and there is nothing I owed.
Plus it was supposed to be direct deposit they have my bank details.
NOt good at all

I Probably Got Scammed… Twice

I used FreeTaxUsa to file my tax return. Everything seemed perfect, a little too good to be true. And I think I was right. Forget the ads they keep pushing, and be very careful.

My tax return seemed successful and on the IRS website it was sent, but many weeks passed and I never received it, I know like me (initially) you're probably thinking, it can't be their fault.

However, I gave them access to the payment, to take out the money I paid for their "premium" service (also don't make this mistake it's pointless) and send the rest to me.

I tried asking them what could be wrong, but FreeTaxUSA failed to mention that their partner financial institution, TPG, who was collecting their payment, could have the money. FreeTaxUSA said they had no idea where my money could be.

I tried calling TPG, but they said my SSN was invalid and wouldn't connect me to an agent (I feel stupid now even giving it to them). I sent them a request and they've refused to respond for weeks.

Bottom line, my money is gone. This also happened in 2018 but I forgot thinking I did something wrong that year and I did it again.

Don't be like me, don't follow the ads. Pay a little somewhere else and get your money. I wish I saw their reviews before I gave them free money. Oh well.

I would give zero stars

This site is not updated. Other sites allow job related expense deductios for health workers this site do not. Stay away i don't know if they sell information. I paid 14.99 each for two states, federal deluxeversion is $6.99. They send email on 20th my tax was rejected for sill reasons the stae will only get paid on 24th. Now Iam late and they suggest I send manual return!

My ddd is 2/27 and I have had my fees taken out of my refund. Does the bank you use delay the process?

No the prepaid card service was suppose to have sent my card within a week it's been a month they don't even know who I am they never got any of my information and when the refund processed it would be directly deposited on to card no hold time the IRS informed me I should have had my refund within 21 days and that I needed to contact the preparer but no luck on that end of the line

Last year I filed mine and also my daughters taxes with Free tax USA.I can retrieve my 2015 taxes but not my daughters to do her 2016 taxes.I only get sign in with my user name and password.

Actually Free Tax USA is a SCAM/RIPOFF! They will charge you for their services and later tell you they are unable to file your return! They have done this to me more than once!

You can but not efile if u dont have a printer dont bother and there is a cost which i knew that would happen

I did my taxes today there, first it says no state tax refund then it made me pay 12.95 to expedite my refund? Then every credit card I tried said turned down do too late payment even my debit which has no payments I am not late, I am feeling this was a ploy to get all my credit card numbers?

There a fraud no more of my buisness I got a lawyer and he is starting process in the morning forget this company they put their account on your taxes I trusted them but the IRS is messy as well

Jamie do not use them they are fraudulent. I just did my taxes and they stole $60 everyone else up there giving them 5 stars are a scam and probably work for these scammers please everyone who has had problems with this website freetaxusa.com or taxhawk.com go to the ftc.com/complaints website to report them. Here is all the info that I retrieved I even have a feeling they are doing identity theft especially if you get a return so all the next years they can file taxes with your social and send the money to a ghost account. 1344 E 1120 S, Provo, UT 84606
